While
the Advent House from the film is only seen on screen for a total
under two minutes, pains-taking detail has been put into it's creation.
Our house remains as true to the version in the films as is possible
with a few upgrades along the way.
Contrary
to common misconception, a true advent calendar only contains 24
numbers and runs from December 1st through December 24th, Christmas
Eve. There is no door for Christmas Day. In regards to the movie
version of the Advent House, ths same premise is followed. Careful
observation of the movie shows the number "one" on the
tower and December 24th as the main, front door.
Furthermore,
while the film version doesn't seem to be lit, our version goes
on the assumption that you can light the tower and atrium for December
1st and countdown each day to Christmas Eve.
In
staying true to the film, we have tried to duplicate similar images
into each proper window. Therefore, where Santa Claus is seen in
the second floor window for December 15th in the film, our version
displays Santa Claus as well.
Unfortunately, not every window is seen in the film. With no way
of knowing for sure, an educated guess complimenting the style of
the existing windows has been made.
The
Christmas Advent House is hand-crafted entirely from wood and remains
as true to the version in the movie as is possible. While the film
version's exterior is a flat surface with a brick design, one of
our enhancements is the use of real brick and mortar to give the
house a rich and elegant look.
Above
all, a labor of love goes into the creation of each Advent House.
We hope that you will enjoy your house as much as we do and that
you share it with your family for generations to come.
